The Airspace Control Institute (ICEA), an agency linked to the Airspace Control Department (DECEA), held the ATM Performance Seminar 2022. The event, which took place between November 29th and December 1st at the Institute, featured the presence of representatives from DECEA, EUROCONTROL (European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation), Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC), São Paulo International Airport (GRU AIRPORT), Guarulhos Airport Control Tower, Gol Linhas Aéreas, Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), IATA (International Air Transport Association), Saipher ATC, among others from industry, academia and government.
The IP&D Manager, Elias Fernandes, represented the company and presented the details of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) operation at São Paulo International Airport. He spoke about the operation, advantages and benefits offered by the system, especially the A-CDM KPIs (performance indicators) currently monitored. "The Seminar was very productive. The rich content and excellent organization were the event's highlights", evaluates the Manager.
The Seminar aims to contribute to discussing topics in the area of performance management, identifying initiatives, projects and good practices that contribute to the system's best performance. The proposal is to encourage research and projects in ATM Performance, a collaboration between specialists from different areas of the Brazilian Airspace Control System (SISCEAB) and the search for practical solutions to eventual challenges of the national ATM.
It is the first event in Brazil promoted by DECEA's ATM Performance Commission in partnership with ITA and the Brazilian Society for Air Transport Research (SBTA).
