Build 4 Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of TATIC FLOW 3.0 – a solution developed to support the management and optimization of air traffic flow, was conducted at Saipher headquarters. The new version expands the system’s capabilities and consolidates enhancements initiated in Build 3, incorporating improvements in operational monitoring, data analysis, along with integration between TATIC FLOW and systems used in airspace control.

Representatives from the Brazilian Air Navigation Management Centre (CGNA) participated in the event, as follow: Capt Sergio Roberto Oliveira Fonseca, 1st Lt Bruno Furtado Sá, 1st Sgt Grazielle Luiza Augusto de Souza, 1st Sgt Helena Alves Arcebispo de Florença, 1st Sgt Robson Costa Cassemiro, 3rd Sgt Gustavo Ribeiro Rangel de Lima, and Aldifax Jose Moraes Júnior. Representing the Airspace Control System Implementation Commission (CISCEA) were: Maj Raphael Ribeiro Nogueira Barbosa, Eduardo Barbosa Erthal, and Bruno Mury Galle. The Saipher team was comprised by Product Manager Elias Antônio Fernandes and Project Manager Rodrigo dos Santos Ferraz de Camargo; Product Owners Simone Messina de Godoy and Thiago Valério Tavares da Silva; and the QA and Testing Team was composed of Testing Test Analyst Louine Anairam Facio e Silva and Testers Rafaele Pereira da Silva and Walesca Rodrigues Coelho.

How the FAT was conducted

Over the course of the five-day FAT, different system modules and features were evaluated, including reports, operational and technical queries available in the TATIC Portal. Advancements in integration with the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) concept were also tested, enabling the visualization, within the FLOW environment, of the 20 A-CDM Performance Indicators (IDAC) associated with the collaborative decision-making process in the airport environment.

Among the features tested was the Flight Plan module, responsible for sending data from the Current Airspace Information Sharing Platform (PCICEA) to the TATIC TWR and TATIC AFIS systems, strengthening integration between the platforms used in airport operations management. The version also includes improvements in the consolidation of aircraft registrations, increasing the quality of data related to movements, including aircraft identification and type.

In the georeferencing domain, GEODATA features were evaluated, enabling the registration of geofences for the visualization of aircraft equipped with ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast). The solution also allows these aircraft to be displayed on airport ground maps where ADS-B receivers have been installed, heightening situational awareness in operations.

Another evaluated aspect was the runway capacity calculation, which makes it possible to estimate the capacity of an aerodrome’s runway system, contributing to the analysis and planning of airport operations.

CMS (Central Monitoring System) functionality was also tested within Build 4 – a tool dedicated to monitoring the servers, services, networks, and databases that compose the system’s operational environment.

Within the operational domain, a new configuration set was tested as part of Build 4, which is responsible for preparing and sending global and local packages to the TATIC TWR and TATIC AFIS systems, using data from GEA (Airspace Management).

The solution also includes the application of ATFM (Air Traffic Flow Management) measures, enabling the implementation of MDI (Minimum Departure Interval) measures, which result in a defined separation in minutes for a given departure flow, and GDP (Ground Delay Program), or ATFM SLOT, which results in the determination of a new departure time for one or more specific flights, aimed at managing air traffic flow.

Regarding data analysis capabilities, the Business Intelligence module, already introduced in Build 3, was expanded and evaluated during the FAT with the inclusion of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) 11 and 15 and the identifier BR 01.

About TATIC FLOW

TATIC FLOW is a solution developed by Saipher to support air traffic flow management by integrating operational data, analytical tools, and monitoring functionalities into a unified environment.

The platform enables the consolidation of information from different systems used in airspace control, offering resources for real-time operational monitoring, performance analysis, and decision-making support. The system also incorporates functionalities focused on operational visualization, aeronautical data integration, and the analysis of strategic indicators.

Through continuous evolution with new versions and builds, TATIC FLOW seeks to expand operational efficiency and strengthen air traffic flow management capabilities in complex environments with high operational demand.
