Saipher ATC attended the World ATM Congress 2022, the world's most influential international air traffic management (ATM) exhibition and conference. The event, which took place in Madrid, Spain, is a partnership between the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) and the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA). The leading product developers, experts, stakeholders, and air navigation service providers (ANSPs) have gathered in that country.
According to Fred Boratto, Saipher’s Operations Director, making part of the global air traffic management community is essential for the company’s success. " Participating in events like this is essential to have access to trends and technologies used around the world," he says. The Director of Innovation and New Business, R1 Air Brigadier José Vagner Vital agrees and evaluates the company's participation. "WATM was a success, especially if we analyze our participation from the point of view of new business and perspectives", evaluates the director.
In addition to Fred and Vital, Commercial Director Luiz Tanaka and Business Manager Jones Brandão also attended at the Congress.
About WATM
The World ATM Congress, which took place from June 21 to 23, at IFEMA, in Madrid, is the international air navigation congress that brings together the best professionals in the segment. In its 9th edition, the event promoted three days of discussions, debates, and insights regarding the main challenges of the ATM sector.
Many other subjects were addressed from the aviation area, including Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) / Urban Air Mobility (UAM), drones, commercial space, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML), cloud computing, and autonomous systems. Also, it featured the most significant European aviation so far, and with the most relevant organizations for managing and regulating global traffic.
During the Congress, in addition to the presence of numerous exhibitors, complementary forums were held in seven educational theaters. At the venue, the heart of the exhibition hall, presentations were held with industry leaders' latest trends and developments. In this edition of WATM, there were more than 200 conference sessions which could count with participation from 110 countries and territories, bringing a wide network of contacts, many business opportunities, and substantial evolution for air traffic management.
