Circular officializes A-CDM operations in Guarulhos

Updated: Aug 28, 2021

On October 8, the Airspace Control Department (DECEA) published an AIC-N 41/20 (Aeronautical Information Circular) on Operations at Aerodrome A-CDM. The document aims to disclose the A-CDM (Airport Collaborative Decision Making) procedures for the Guarulhos international aerodrome in São Paulo, Brazil (SBGR). The determinations contained in the AIC will be adopted according to the specific dates inserted in the AIP publication (Aeronautical Publication Information) of the aerodrome, as of November 5, 2020.

Aerodrome Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) is an operational concept inserted in ATM (Air Traffic Management) whose objective is to improve operational efficiency, predictability, and punctuality for the ATM network participating partners. According to AIC, this concept requires joint and collaborative work by the different partners to make decisions based on more accurate and better-quality information. Each data is obtained in a standardized manner for complete situational awareness of each partner involved in this context.

A-CDM improvements

The implementation of the A-CDM in an aerodrome has as a premise the transformation of the communication policies and procedures of the airport operations environment, bringing substantial improvements to all involved, among them: better predictability, punctuality performance, the possibility of ATFM measures ( Automated and anticipated Air Traffic Flow Management), reduction of ground movement costs, optimization of airport infrastructure, reduction of congestion in the runways and taxiways and measurement of air traffic performance indicators.

This AIC-N 41/20 brings all the access details to the ACISP platform (A-CDM Information Sharing Platform). The A-CDM operation is determined by the Operational Control Center GRU Airport, responsible for coordinating with the other bodies of the SISCEAB (Brazilian Airspace Control System) regarding the issuance of NOTAM, updating ATIS, and other messages for the user.
